Amorphous solids
editI intend to remove this section because it is of minor relevance to the topic (it confuses instead of clarifying things). If nobody has anything against, I will replace this section with what I consider the best example of characteristic/relaxation time: that of the RC circuit. Mgnelu (talk) 01:39, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Monomolecular first-order reversible reaction
editThis section needs substantial revision. 1) It contains too much math. 1a) since the A <-> B reaction is reversible, use forward and reverse rate constants:

2) It talks about "conservation of mass", although the molecular weights of A and B are not known, so these may be pseudo-reactions that do not conserve mass. It would be better to talk about conservation of particles, which the example clearly satisfies. 3) use the equals define sign instead of = when making a definition 4) a conclusion that connects the example with the concept of relaxation is needed.
